Description:
Support the Ōtautahi | Christchurch community by delivering hot meals to approximately 10 households as part of the NZ Red Cross Meals on Wheels programme.

You will learn:
• Volunteer time to support the NZ Red Cross / Meals on Wheels by delivering meals to members of the community.  
• Work cooperatively with peers, taking turns to navigate the delivery van and assist with meal deliveries.  
• Help ensure meals are delivered safely, accurately, and on time.

What to bring:
Morning tea if you want it.

• Depending on the route we do and the number of meals to deliver we may be back late for lunch (12.45PM).

Description:
Discover vibrant street art, sculptures, museums, and galleries, while walking around the city centre of Ōtautahi Christchurch.

You will learn:
• Learn about local street art and artists.  
• Understand the role of museums and galleries.  
• Explore Aotearoa's history and creativity through art.

What to bring:
• Shoes and clothes suitable for walking. 
• Dress for the weather - a jacket or warmer clothes if the weather is cooler, sun hat and sunblock if it is a hot day.

• Leaving from SW, mainly walking around the city centre with occasional visits to museums and art in the wider city. 
• Participants need to be able to walk comfortably for 2 hours. 
• Rainy days will be offsite at Turanga library researching art, or at an indoor gallery or museum.

Description:
An outdoor sporting activity based on softball and baseball. Term 4 focuses on developing skills, teamwork, and game practice, with Term 1 providing the opportunity to compete against other teams in a supportive environment.

You will learn:
• Develop ball handling, batting, and running skills.  
• Build teamwork through playing Tee-Ball with others.  
• Gain experience playing games and connecting with other teams.

What to bring:
• Water bottle (essential).
• Hat (essential).
• Afternoon tea.

• Transport limited to 6 participants due to van capacity.
• Participants travelling by bus leave SkillWise at 12:15 pm to arrive at Cowles Stadium by 1:00 pm.

Description:
Sign up to be a volunteer at the SPCA, helping to wash, dry, fold and store cat and dog bedding. Other tasks can include washing animal bowls or filling heavy bags of pet food.

You will learn:
• The importance of hygiene: how clean bedding directly affects animals’ health, comfort and stress levels. 
• Learn to be part of a team and how every task, no matter how unglamorous, keeps the whole system running. 
• Even without direct animal handling volunteers are contributing to their wellbeing.

What to bring:
• Warm jacket (volunteers will be working outdoors).

New participants MUST attend the first week session to attend orientation. Only people who have done orientation can do this class.
