What to Expect

Discover the art of stone carving in a small, supportive group. Through hands-on guidance, you’ll learn to transform raw stone into unique sculptural pieces, from rough shaping to refined detailing.

What to Bring

  • Sturdy, closed-toe shoes

  • Comfortable, old clothing (stone dust is unavoidable!)

  • Water bottle

All tools and safety equipment are provided.

What You’ll Learn

  • Tool Handling: Safe use of chisels, hammers, and rasps

  • Stone Knowledge: How different stones carve and finish

  • Technique & Precision: Steady, controlled carving for detailed work

  • Creative Design: Translate your ideas into three-dimensional forms

  • Patience & Focus: Develop resilience through each careful strike

Benefits for You

You will learn how to carve and create your own piece of art to take home. You will use your hands and arms to shape the material, which helps build strength and control while working on your fine motor-skills. You’ll practice thinking in 3D as you plan and make your design. Working with natural materials can feel calm and relaxing. You will also be part of a group where you can share ideas, get help, and learn from each other.
